What is a custody account?

In your custody account, you get a simplified overview of your private ownership as well as your ownership through companies. Once logged in to NVR, you can find the depot in one of the tabs in the top right corner.

Here, you can see:

  • The companies you own shares in

  • The type of shares you own

  • Your ownership percentage

  • Your voting rights

  • The number of shares you hold

  • The latest events related to your ownership

Note: For unlisted shares, it can be difficult to determine an exact value since there is no easily accessible market value. Therefore, you won’t see that information directly in your depot—you’ll need to contact the company to find out the value.

How do I create a free account with NVR to view my shareholdings?

Follow these steps:

  1. Click the button "Create account"

  2. Identify yourself with BankID/Mobile BankID

  3. Follow the instructions

You now have a free shareholding depot for unlisted shares, where your holdings will be displayed. All unlisted holdings will be visible in the depot.

Where do I find the custody account?

Follow these steps:

  1. Click on "Services"

  2. Select "Custody account"

How do I view my private ownership?

  1. Click the arrow to the right under "Ownership as a private individual"

2. You will now see a list of all companies you hold shares in privately. Click the arrow again for more information.

3. You can now view a history of transactions and other events, as well as details about your shares.

I own shares through my company—what do I to view my shares?

If you want to view your company-held shares, do the following:

  1. Log in with your personal ID and BankID (select share ledger). If you are of another nationality other than Swedish, login with email and password

  2. Under private ownership, you’ll find holdings via your own company. There, you can add your company

  3. Refresh the page

Why can't I see my company-based ownership?

For security reasons, this requires a few extra steps to ensure that no unauthorized person can access a company’s unlisted shareholdings. Only official company representatives, board members or the CEO are allowed to view ownership from a company perspective.

At the moment, there’s no way to grant power of attorney for this access, but we are working on a solution.

If you can’t see your company-based ownership, it may be because:

  • You haven’t added your company yet. First, you need to add it to the depot by clicking "Add company" below your private ownership.

(Note: This connection is not the same as creating a company share ledger.)

  • It’s not a Swedish company. Ownership via companies registered outside of Sweden cannot currently be viewed

  • You must be a board member or CEO of the company whose ownership you wish to see

Can I move my unlisted shares to another depot, like Avanza or Nordnet?

❌ No, you cannot transfer your unlisted shares from your depot to your bank or a deposit institution like Avanza or Nordnet - not in the same way you can with publicly traded shares.

Why not?

Limited liability companies are not connected to Euroclear, which means platforms like Avanza and Nordnet cannot see or manage the shares in their systems. For this to be possible, the company would need to have an ISIN code, something only companies with share ledgers managed by Euroclear have.

Your shares are either physical or manually recorded in a share ledger maintained by the company itself, not in an electronic register accessible by banks.
