The Audit log in NVR is an activity log that provides a complete and timestamped overview of all actions performed on the platform. The feature is included in the Pro plan and adds an extra level of security and control, since every change becomes fully traceable.

This reduces the risk of errors, makes reviews easier, and provides a powerful tool for tracking changes over time, especially valuable when multiple people manage the same company or when a group consists of several companies.

For users with group accounts, traceability becomes even more extensive. The Audit Log records both actions at the company level (linked to each individual company under the group account) and actions performed directly on the group account, such as when a new user is added.

What you can see in the Audit log

For every event, the following is recorded:

  • Who performed the action: name, personal identity number (or organization number), email address, and user ID.

  • What was done: which event occurred and the type of change (e.g., created, updated, deleted).

  • When it happened: the exact timestamp of the event.

  • Where it happened: for group accounts, you can see which company the event relates to.

  • Additional context: a description of what was changed or affected.

All actions related to ownership data, users, instruments, documents, and settings are automatically logged and searchable. This makes it easy to follow up and trace changes when needed.

At the company level, you can find the Audit log under Settings in the left-hand menu. Only users who are Administrators in the company have access to the Audit log, Observers do not. You can read more about the different user types here.

Each row can also be expanded to display additional details about the event. This shows raw data, such as which share entries were affected by the change performed. Since it is raw data, the information is not always presented in the most user-friendly way, but it contains enough detail to trace and understand exactly what was changed.

Audit log for group accounts

For users with a group account, there are additional features that provide even greater control and visibility. The log records both actions at the company level (linked to each company within the group account) and actions on the group account itself, such as when a new user is added. If you have a group account, you can find the Audit log under Settings at the top of the right-hand menu. In group accounts, a user can be either an Administrator or a Member, and both have access to view the Audit log. Read more about user types for group accounts here.

If you only want to see events for the group account or events for individual companies, you can filter the Audit log accordingly. You can also search for events within a specific company or within the group account.
